In the assignment that students have to complete, it fulfills 4th Grade Social Studies: Standard 3: Students will understand the roles of civic life, politics and government in the lives of Utah citizens.
It also fulfills, Ed Tech Standard 6: use telecommunications efficiently and effectively to access remote information and communicate with others in support of direct and independent learning and for pursuit of personal interest.
